About

Born and raised in Tyler, Texas, I've always been interested in art. My childhood was spent playing sports, singing in choir and making art. I attended the University of Texas at Tyler and received a Bachelors in Fine Art. Then I moved to Nacogdoches, Texas and attended Stephen F. Austin State University for the Master of Art graduate degree. There I worked as a graduate assistant in the art department building their slide library.

I paint and make collages. I teach art at Tyler Junior College and work regularly in my studio. In the past I have been fortunate enough to live in Austin, Texas and New York City, which gave me a vast understanding of the art world on a large urban scale. Throughout the years I have produced art shows for artists and opened a small gallery during graduate school. After moving around a bit, as artists do, I came back to East Texas and married my best friend, James. We have 3 children, Joseph, Pearl and Sam.

My love for color drives every piece whether it is multicolored or black and white. Mark making and color must work harmoniously for the piece to be successful. I work on each piece until that magic moment when I know it is finished.

I hope you enjoy experiencing the work as much as I do making it! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
